Hotel Maršal Bjelašnica is located at the base of the ski lifts on Bjelašnica Mountain, and is perfect for both families and individual travellers keen a bit of skiing in Bosnia. The hotel is quieter in the summer months and a great place to escape the city crowds, but it comes to life in winter and reservations become hard to get.
The spring and summer months are also a good time to visit - the Bjelašnica highland villages still have a lot to offer during this time. The peace and quiet of the mountains is a pleasant change from the bustle of downtown.
Facilities & Services
The hotel is an ideal base for exploring the Olympic Mountains. Excellent for on and off piste skiing for both the beginner and expert skier, as well as great snowshoeing are both available on Bjelasnica and Igman mountains. Summer activities include walking, mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding and rafting. Perhaps the only drawback is the fact that not much is going on at night. But then again you can always hop down to Sarajevo with its numerous restaurants, clubs, all year round social and cultural events. The area is changing fast with new apartments and other hotels being built, so don't be surprised to find new services opening up all the time.
