This is a magical tour through the ancient forests of Čvrsnica Mountain to Žljeb. The trek follows King Karadjordjević's old hunting trails. A hunting hut was built near the top for the King because he loved the rich wildlife the area had to offer. The king has long passed on, but his trail is very much alive and has been enjoyed for years by trekkers.
The group will hike through a canopy beech-tree forest starting from the valley of Diva Grabovica. The climb is at times sharp but truly stunning and refreshing. The trail leads to several natural springs, so lack of water is never a problem. The participants will need a water bottle to fill for the final ascent though. The climb will last 2.5 hours before the destination is reached. Lunch will be on a perch overlooking the largest rock face on the Balkan Peninsula, over 1,000 metres high. The peaks of Čvrsnica tower around in every direction from this point. Mali and Veliki Medvjed sprout out in front, rock walls to the right, and the rocky peaks of Čvrsnica's highest points just behind. This trek promises spectacular views fit for a king.
More strenuous day and multi-day trips are also offered, that include hiking with ascents ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters. Interested parties may contact Green Visions for more information.
