Location - Duration
- Duration: 1 day(s)
- Location: Konjic-Neretva and Rakitnica rivers
Itinerary
The tour will begin not far from Boračko Lake in the Konjic area, starting with tackling a challenging, but perfectly safe suspension bridge. Having crossed the bridge, the group will make for Kašići village located on the hilly ridge above the Neretva. At the graveyard the group will head downward to the Neretva and meet the Emerald of Herzegovina. Here the river runs wild with no dams to constrain it, and the group will follow the gushing waters one kilometre to the mouth of the Rakitnica Canyon, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s least explored canyon.
The group will then cross another bridge at the mouth and rest at one of the numerous beaches, or in the case of bad weather, in one of the caves above this beautiful meeting point with views of the Prenj and Crvanj Mountains. The way back is via the higher ridge with fantastic views of the Neretva below, and the protective ridge around Oštro in the Canyon of Rakitnica.
